    The Sr Archives & Digital Asset Preservation Intern is a graduate student program that will work alongside Archives and Digital Asset Preservation (ADAP) staff to process MBTA records. The ADAP team is in the Document Management (DM) group of the Office of Quality, Compliance, and Oversight. The DM’s overarching objective is to implement systems and standards that enhance quality of information, guaranteeing integrity and accessibility, for the lifecycle of the records. This is accomplished by applying document control, records / information management, and archival best practices.In this role, the intern will assist the DM team in organizing, maintaining, and improving archival management through archival processing. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in archives management, working with a team of archival professionals, while supporting one of the largest and oldest transit systems in the nation. It provides experience in applying archival best practices related to arrangement, rehousing, description, and labeling. It will also adhere to DACS and MODS standards of record processing and inventory to increase access to critical and historic MBTA records. The most qualified (or ideal) candidates would be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Library and Information Science, at least one year of experience in archives, and above-average skills in information organization and project management.
