     Data Entry & Education Engagement Summer Intern  We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Data Entry & Education Engagement Summer Intern position for an exciting project.Dr. Christina Coyle, an expert in travel medicine, is the Principal Investigator (PI) on a grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) entitled “The Global TravEpiNet (GTEN): U.S. Travelers Health Research, Surveillance, Communication, and Outreach Networks.” As part of this grant, we are conducting a retrospective review of malaria cases across multiple Bronx hospital sites between July 2019 and September 2024. This study aims to identify high-risk populations, evaluate current treatment approaches among providers, and uncover gaps in care. With approximately 400 cases under review, this research project is one of the largest of its kind. Its findings could play a key role in advocacy by highlighting both the successes and challenges in malaria care, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.In this role, the Data Entry & Education Engagement Intern will assist with data entry efforts and contribute to the real-world impact of the project by organizing educational sessions and working groups to educate providers on malaria and other diseases affecting immigrant populations in the Bronx.
