Are you passionate about climate change and looking for hands-on, community-based experience? The LEJ Climate Action Fellowship is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 academic year!

In partnership with Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ), this fellowship offers students the opportunity to support environmental education, native plant restoration, and climate justice initiatives in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood. Fellows will earn a $10,000 stipend, commit approximately 15 hours per week, and enroll in a 1-unit seminar during Fall 2025.

We are offering two LEJ Partnership Fellowships, open to full-time undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in climate solutions, environmental justice, and community engagement.

The 3rd annual Climate Action Fellowship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study and is designed to enable a diverse group of SF State students to take action to address climate change from a wide variety of perspectives and to support the development of community and leadership among these and other SF State students focused on climate change.  The program is part of the SF State Climate Justice Leaders Initiative.

   * Application deadline:   March 3, 2025

   * Annual award amount:  $10,000; up to six fellowships will be awarded

   * Undergraduate and graduate students in all majors are invited to apply

   * Under-represented students are especially encouraged to apply

   * Interested students are encouraged to attend an information session
