Research to Resume Workshop

Do you know how to make your resume and cover letter shine? It’s easier than you think. This workshop will show you how to successfully communicate your research skills and experiences to put together a professional resume & cover letter that will spark an employer’s interest. You will learn tips on highlighting your research qualifications, education and experiences relevant to your job/internship/graduate school objective.

We will be offering this workshop in conjunction with Career Services.

We will provide free lunch for all participating students.  

Spring 2024 Career & Internship Fair

This is a great opportunity for SF State students to meet with employers during this major recruiting event to learn about internship/co-op programs, and full-time employment opportunities.

This event is open only to currently enrolled SF State students, SF State alumni, and currently enrolled students of other CSU campuses. All guests must bring SF State student ID, or transcript and photo ID to show present or past student status.

Go to the career event profile to view a list of registered employers. Students and alumni should bring their resumes and professional or business casual attire is recommended.

Win a trip to Berlin!

Falling Walls Labs are science/innovation slams that take place worldwide. Young researchers, students, and entrepreneurs can pitch their innovative ideas or research that creates a positive impact on science and society to an interdisciplinary jury that will select the winner. Topics can be broad and are not limited to engineering and science. All winners of the Labs worldwide will be invited to the Falling Walls Conference in Berlin in November with all expenses paid.

Participants can apply here by April 1, 2024. Finalists will be invited to pitch at the Exploratorium in San Francisco on April 17, 2024. If you have any questions, please email: info.sanfrancisco@dwih.org.

This event is designed to unite students from diverse academic backgrounds and career stages, providing an opportunity to connect and engage in discussions about research. We want to learn from YOU!

  • 10:30 - 11:00 AM First round of Presentations
  • 11:10 - 11:40 AM Second round of Presentations
  • 11:50 - 12:50 PM Current PhD Students and SFSU Alumni will talk about their research journey
  • 1 - 2 PM Networking and Lunch (Light snacks will be provided)
